Egon Schiele “Crucifixion with Darkened Sun”
Best known for his intense portrayals of lanky prostitutes, in 1907 Austrian artist Egon Schiele painted a religious image of the eclipse which was said to occur during the crucifixion of Jesus. Schiele was just 17 years old when he completed the work.

Never saw Egon Schiele painting of the crucifixion. Eclipses are rare so they are celebrated.
Who knows, maybe it’s the end of the world today.

That’s a great painting. It really captures the strange light of an eclipse.
I had not seen that painting before either, But we made it through, still here!
It does have an eerie feel.
