Egon Schiele (June 12, 1890-October 31, 1918) was an Austrian Expressionist painter. According to Wikipedia, “His work is noted for its intensity and its raw sexuality, and for the many self-portraits the artist produced, including nude self-portraits.”

Egon Schiele “Crucifixion with Darkened Sun”

Best known for his intense portrayals of lanky prostitutes, in 1907 Austrian artist Egon Schiele painted a religious image of the eclipse which was said to occur during the crucifixion of Jesus. Schiele was just 17 years old when he completed the work.
